Primeval (created by Tim Haines and Adrian Hodges) is a television show based around a modern world where time portals (anomalies) are popping up, spewing out creatures that are dangerous, harmless and just plain cute.
Professor Nick Cutter (played by Douglas Henshall), whose wife disappeared several years ago and his team of scientists are assigned the job of containing the anomalies and the creatures that come with them.
This team includes:
Connor Temple (played by Andrew-Lee Potts), a nerdy student of Nick's who is in love with conspiricies and the extra terrestrial.
Abby Maitland (played by Hannah Spearritt), a punky girl with a firey personality and a passion for all things reptile.
Stephen Hart (played by James Murray), Cutter's handsome right-hand man with experience in tracking animals. Oh, and he's good with guns.
Claudia Brown (played by Lucy Brown), a woman from the Home Office, independant, loyal, and someone you can trust. She always had a thing for Cutter.
Helen Cutter (played by Juliet Aubrey), Cutter's slightly insane wife. The antagonist of the show, with extensive knowledge on the anomalies backing her up.
James Lester (played by Ben Miller), the big boss with a strong dislike for Cutter and a sarcastic sense of humour.
Along came series two with the introduction of some new characters:
Oliver Leek (played by Carl Theobald), after Claudia ceased to exist Leek replaced her, becoming Lester's little toy. But, Leek had his own agenda.
Jenny Lewis (played by Lucy Brown), replica of Claudia in appearance, but in personality she was completely different. Firey, bossy and a tad flirtacious.
Caroline Steel (played by Naomi Bentley), hired by Leek to be Connor's girlfriend and gain information, she was very hated by fans, especially after what she did to Rex (Abby's pet lizard from the past).
The Cleaner (played by Tim Faraday), a recurring character always seen doing the antagonist's bidding.
In series three, more new characters were introduced to keep the story brewing:
Danny Quinn (played by Jason Flemyng), a policeman who blackmailed his way into Cutter's position as team leader after his death.
Dr Sarah Page (played by Laila Rouass), an egyptologist asked into the team to help Nick along with his studies on mythology and how it links to the anomalies.
Captain Becker (played by Ben Mansfield), an experienced special forces worker there to protect the team after the unfortunate death of Stephen.
Christine Johnson (played by Belinda Stewart-Wilson), the military liaison with the ARC. Demands power and control over the anomaly operation.
With all these marvelous characters and the storylines surrounding them, what will the promised series 4 and 5 bring?
